Click the
Reports icon from the menu to display the report file manager
menu. Click Report files from that menu
The Report File Manager allows you
to upload custom-designed reports (designed using the Report
Designer program) from your desktop to the central server, or to download
reports from the central server to your desktop.
Click
here for information on QReport, the report designer.
for the steps to modify the 'order' form.
Transmit a report: Send a
report design from your desktop to the server.
Click the [Browse] button to locate
the report design format on your computer. Enter a name and complete
the Report information section to simplify subsequent searching.
Click [Process import] to
copy the design from your computer to the server. Select whether or
not to automatically overwrite the existing server version.
Fetch a report:
The available custom-designed
reports are displayed in the drop down list. Locate the required
report and click [Fetch this report format] and save it on your
computer. You can then open it with QReport, modify
and re-save it.
Example
- get the default order form and modify it in Report
Designer
It's a bit of an awkward process,
but we will get you through it, step by step.
Note:
1. You have to be logged in as
Administrator to carry out report file uploads and downloads...
2. As administrator, you need to have
QReport installed on your desktop computer. QReport is an executable program that is downloaded
and installed separately.
If you are working with the
Intranet version, it may already be installed.
Check your computer via Start
> Programs > Dalco > QApps > QReport Report Designer to confirm
you have it. If you don't have it installed:
- Log in and go to your
Home page
- Click [Desktop apps] near the
bottom in the buttons list on the right side (you may have to
click [Show buttons] first to get the button list).
- When the Desktop
Applications page opens, click [Download Desktop Applications].
- Follow through with the
installation.
Download the form onto your desktop
The order, quote and invoice reports are Standard reports
used by the Order Entry module and therefore cannot be downloaded directly.
There are a couple of intermediary steps.
You will first move the report from
the Standard reports section into the Custom reports section, then
download it for modification in the Report Designer.
Once modified, you then upload it back to the Custom reports section, then move it
back to the Standard reports section.
But … before uploading it, you should rename the report in the Custom reports section as a backup.
Steps:
1. From your Home page: click [Reports] > [Report files], click [Delete/rename/move reports (admin)].
2. Select ( )Standard reports option.
3. Select 'order' from the dropdown list.
4. Select '1. Move from Standard to Custom Reports' then [Move it].
5. Select the tab [Fetch a report]
6. Select 'order' from the dropdown, then [Fetch this report format]
7. Save it to a folder. A convenient folder would be the Reports folder for the Report Designer, typically:
C:\Users\Public\Program
Files\Dalco\QApps\QReport\Reports
8. Open it in Report Designer on your desktop (ignore SQL error message if one occurs), modify as needed and save.
9. Back in the Reports module, click [Delete/rename/move reports (admin)] and select ( )Custom reports.
10. Select 'order' from dropdown list and, under '2. Rename the report', rename it. Something like:
order-backup
11. Click [Process rename].
12. Click [Transmit a report] tab.
13. [Browse] to upload your modified report version. It doesn't show anything, but it's actually ready.
14. Click [Process import].
15. Click [Delete/rename/move reports (admin)].
16. Select ( )Custom reports and select 'order' from the dropdown list.
17. Click [Move it] to move the report back to Standard reports.
18. Select ( )Standard reports, click the dropdown and confirm that the report is there.
Testing:
Go to Home page, select [Products] > [Orders] and prepare a one-line order. You have to save it, then click [Print] (top right area) and follow through to display the PDF.
